Summary
We have partnered with a market leading FMCG food brand who are looking for a Senior Packaging Technologist/Packaging Project Manager to join their established team. The role is Midlands based but the client is open to offering a level of flexible home working for the right candidate.

This long-established, FMCG business boasts an impressive portfolio made up of some of the UK's most recognising brands. This growing company is focused on delivering consistent quality and creating an entrepreneurial organisation where people love to work.
A comprehensive, technical understanding of packaging materials and processes is paramount. This business works mainly with flexible and rigid plastic packaging (fibres, polymers, thermoforming, injection moulding etc).You will be responsible for delivering projects on time and within budget and will have the ability to use your initiative in prioritising tasks.
A core part of your role will also be researching future trends in packaging technologies and feeding back to the team in order to help to develop strategy and provide direction.You will need to have the ability to anticipate problems and provide solutions with awareness of the potential consequences of change, whilst always ensuring compliance to all legal and regulatory changes. You will also be required to lead trials and maintain and develop supplier partnerships.
Key requirements;

Experience working in a similar role within an FMCG market.

Previous experience of producing machinery specifications and qualification criteria.

Have knowledge of supplier auditing and approval of new suppliers.

Be flexible to travel within the UK and Europe with approximately one overnight stay per week.

Possess excellent project management and communication skills.

Ideally you will be degree educated (or equivalent) in a related subject.
